Stress Less This Holiday

Whether you are celebrating, ignoring or boycotting the holidays, we still need to reduce the stress associate with the season. We don’t need statistics to understand most people struggle with stress this time of year.

Here are a few items you can do to stay healthy this December.

Move.

Smile.

Say no.

Breathe.

Hire a maid.

Eat real food.

Get enough sleep.

Remember to laugh.

Do less, enjoy more.

Take a half-hour walk.

Listen to tunes you love.

Sniff citrus essential oils.

Be generous with yourself.

Keep up your daily routines.

Watch a light hearted program.

Prepare lists and check items off.

Stop obsessing, nobody is perfect.

Abandon customs that create stress.

Go tech free for a day, or two, or three.

Get out into the sunlight or buy a sun lamp.

Say no to those things that create overwhelm.

Take small portions of “comfort” foods and drinks.

Spend time with someone who makes you feel special.

Use your rose-colored glasses when attending obligatory functions.

Eat somethin' spicy or sip hot drinks to trigger feelings of well-being.

Squeeze the fleshy place between your index finger and thumb. Apply firm pressure there for 30 seconds to reduce stress and tension in your upper body.

Live.

Love.

Laugh.

As Voltaire said, "I decided to be happy because it is good for my health."

The Gift of Endings

Many people ask if they should wait until the New Year before beginning to work on their health.

What if you didn't have to wait to begin?

What if you could let go of yesterday and start right now?

Today is a new beginning.

It is never to late to start taking care of yourself so let's begin to create the end of our year with healthy choices and a healthy lifestyle.

Stay hydrated.

Choose organic foods.

Take your supplements.

Reduce your level of stress.

In books, endings are as important as beginnings.

In life, health is important, especially in the end which is the season for...

Healthy Hedonism

Has your home exercise equipment turned into a clothing rack?

Is your idea of a square meal one that always includes a generous pour of Pinot or a basket of bread slathered with butter?

If you want to shine brighter than a light-up lawn display, make self-care a priority again.

What is the fringe benefit of eating clean? You will be buzzing with endorphins.

The Challenge

Ask yourself:

What does it mean to be healthy?

How does it feel to be healthy?

What will it take to make healthy choices daily?

You may gain insight as you reflect on when to begin. Endings are not bad things, they are just new ways to start again.

Out with the Old,

In with the New

We often use the holidays as time to reflect on our goals for the up-coming year. There is this sense of anticipation for what the future holds. Texas Biological Medicine would like to be a part of your future health. So let's talk about New Year Resolutions.

Popular resolutions for 2019 were listed as exercise, diet to lose weight, save money, eat healthier in general, and doing something for self care. In 2018 they were the same but in a slightly different order. The same goes for the year 2017.

This tells us that most people are looking to create a greater sense of health in their lives by doing those things that create a healthy body. Here's how we can help:

If you have resolved to exercise more, plan the who, what, when, where, and how. Put it on your calendar so you don't get derailed. An accountability partner is helpful but not necessary. The partner can show up when you aren't feeling motivated.

Ionic Magnesium will help you get off the couch and get enough energy to go workout. NADH assists the body with oxygen circulation, three before a workout in water assists with energy and hydration. Electrolyte Stamina replaces the electrolytes lost during fun sweaty activities. Maca works for stamina and will help you reach your goals on the treadmill.

Do you want to let go of excess weight? We believe in eating healthy and realize that one type of plan does not fit everyone. Let us help you customize your plan.

Many people are looking to change their diet by eating healthier (whether you want to lose or gain weight).

What if you took out those food that didn't serve you? Here are a list of the dirty dozen and the clean fifteen. These foods keep you from being able to loose weight, have energy and be pain free.

Many times are bodies can't get enough nutrition (vitamins and minerals) from our everyday food source. This can lead to hunger and binge eating. You can take Ionic Magnesium, Ionic Zinc, trace minerals and NADH. Additionally we recommend Celtic Sea Salt which is a vital mineral blend. It is not salty it is minerals which can be added to foods, water and more to assist you in getting more minerals in your diet.

Self care may be your goal. Our foot bath relaxes you while you get rid of toxins.

Tricia Wade is a master with the LET machine which improves the flow of lymph and bio-energy. She offers many services in our office which we have listed below.

Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive therapy, thought to relieve compression in the head, back, and neck. This therapy can soothe pain and release both emotional and physical stress and tension.

Trager Therapy uses gentle, non intrusive, natural movements which helps release deep seated physical and emotional patterns. This therapy facilitates relaxation, increases physical mobility, and mental clarity.

What about that resolution to save money. We can't guarantee you will save money but what if you changed the way you looked at spending money. We offer package pricing and discounts on refills. A good question to ask is: Will this purchased contribute to my health?

How much life can you live if you aren't healthy? It is easier to feel better, have more energy and have a life of thrival if we start the process before the body presents with disease. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Texas Biological Medicine is here to customize your health plan and help you relax and release stress. Call our office at 972-233-8339 to schedule your appointments today.
