We no longer live in an age where word of mouth and home made remedies are the norm. Wrapping socks around our throat when it hurts seemed really popular in the 1800's. Not so much is this age of information.

Some of those ye old remedies actually work. So we've included a few old and a few newer home remedies to ease your mind.

Are you scared of huge mosquitoes? Fearful that you will contract a viral infection? Let’s keep those pests away.

Mosquitoes don’t like the B Vitamins. That might be why they bite some people and leave others alone. So take two B-Replete before you go outside (sold in our office).

If you use a therapeutic grade essential oils such as lavender or lemongrass around your wrists, bare ankles, and neck, you chase the pests away. Most therapeutic grade oils offer education and tools on how to use them. Less is better so find a reputable source or ask us to recommend one while you are in the office.

Rats, Mice, and Bugs Be-gone! Nothing is more distressing than creepy crawly critters. So we use Irish Spring Soap instead of rat poison. It lasts longer, it’s cheaper, and it gets the job done. Use behind the furniture or in the barn or car or anyplace you’ve been infested. For you bathing experience we suggest Grand Pa's Pine Tar Soap or Oatmeal soap.

Citronella candles work at BBQs and family outings. Light one up and enjoy an eerie bug-free zone.

Cooking Spray may have scary ingredients but it’s amazing when you clean. It can silence a squeaky hinge, open stuck locks, remove bugs from a splattered car hood without damaging the paint, and it breaks down mineral deposits and soap scum in your tub and shower. (Wash off completely so no one slips and falls). Because it breaks down mineral deposits we suggest you use Olive oil for low temperatures and Avocado Oil for high temperatures in your kitchen. The ingredients in cooking spray aren’t the best to ingest but put on your rubber gloves and risk turning your haunted house into a squeak free home.

Cleopatra used crocodile dung for her skin. Ghastly. But she also used Aloe Vera plants. This plant reverses signs of aging, takes the sting out of bug bites, soothes and heals sunburns, and gives quick relief for blisters. To make feet soft and exfoliate skin mix ½ cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup corn meal, four tbsp. of aloe vera and a half cup of unscented body lotion.

For a Natural Vapor Rub add 4 drops of Breathe essential oil (found at our office) and 1/4 cup of Organic Coconut oil. Rub on your chest or the upper half of each side of your spine (on the lungs). That will allow you to breathe freely.

It’s horrifying to think our grannies were right. Here are home remedies that won’t leave you distressed.

Salt water for a sore throat helps relieve the pain. Do see a professional if it persists to make sure you don’t have an infection.

Ginger works for nausea. It’s an effective digestive aid. It also helps sea and motion sickness and can be used in conjunction with chemotherapy. Ginger obstructs the serotonin receptors in the gut that cause nausea. You can also use peppermint, B6 and Zinc Drink and Bioplasma Cell Salts. You gut this! Seriously.

Cool Tea Bags for the eyes decreases inflammation around the eyes and stop the fright you receive when you look in the mirror. Place in the fridge and apply gently. Also, 2 NADH - dissolved in water helps lighten the skin around your eyes. You’ll no longer look eerie.

Cranberry juice for UTIs. At the first signs of a urinary tract infection, your mother probably drank cranberry juice. Cranberry has been shown to reduce how well bacteria sticks to the lining cells of the bladder. Some studies in women with recurrent bladder infections have been inconsistent so for those we recommend Cyto-Redoxin and the homeopathic remedy Pleo Alb as well as PH Balancing, which makes it less mysterious.

Prunes help with constipation. Alarming how a high fiber diet, along with adequate fluid, can be effective at helping to alleviate constipation. Prunes are an all-natural source of fiber and we love normal ways to boost the fiber content in your meal plan. Adding two Electrolyte Stamina two times per day also assists with energy and constipation.

Access to websites and Google searches have magnified illness-related anxiety. Some say fake news is wicked and we agree. Instead, search for cures, home remedies, and natural ways to relieve whatever symptom you are experiencing. You can always ask Lona before you decide you are dying from crippling over information. Letting go of the worry helps you begin to take steps into real healing. Nothing horrible about that, is there?

Every moment is born and then dies as soon as it happens. This notion helps us realize that each moment is precious and not to be taken for granted. So let’s look at how we spend those moments so that we can increase our vitality and health.

How do you start your day?

Healthy morning habits can bring order to our lives and kick-start routines that benefits our overall well-being and productivity.

Waking at the same time every day will actually help you sleep better at night. This starts our circadian rhythms which keeps our digestive system and metabolism in balance. Just set your alarm and get up without hitting the snooze.

Do you eat regular meals?
