July: Healthy Feet

Summer time generally means flip flops and fun.

Your feet work for you all day,

whether you stand, walk, run or play.

This month, let's look at nurturing our feet .

Interesting Facts About Your Feet

One fourth of all the bones in the human body are located in your feet.

Women have four times as many foot problems as men. The main reason happens to be a lifetime of wearing high heels.

The skin on the bottom of your foot is twice as thick as the skin on the rest of your body.

Putting an ice pack on your heel for 20 minutes several times a day helps reduce inflammation. Place a thin towel between the ice and your heel; do not apply ice directly to the skin.

Flip-flops aren't good for extensive walking because they offer no arch support, heel cushioning, or shock absorption. Reader's Digest talks about the best flip flops for summer. Click here if you are interested.

Your foot is made up of 26 individual bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, tendons, and over 100 muscles.

Bone spurs are calcium deposit out-growths, usually on the heal, also a result of an acid/alkaline imbalance in the body. One of the causes could be low stomach acid and enzyme production. THe basis of Lona's recent studies with Dr. Thomas Rau were based in acid/alkaline imbalances and the symptomatic ex[pression in the body. Lona has brouught in more European tools for supporting the acid.alkaline balance, stomach acid and enzyme production.

Below we talk about our ionic foot bath while helps with the acid/alkaline imbalance.

Ionic Foot Detox Benefits

Ionic Foot Detox

This type of therapy helps make the body’s pH more “alkaline.” An alkaline body is crucial to a your health. Diseases thrive in an acidic environment. The more alkaline your body is, the less prone you are to contracting a disease.

The Center for Disease Control reports that up to 85% of all illness are caused by toxins and pollutants in our bodies. This therapy helps you become more alkaline and provides a pathway for those toxins and pollutants to leave.

The ionic foot detox may:

  • Purge heavy metals.

  • Create more balanced pH level.

  • Reduce inflammation.

  • Purge yeast.

  • Detoxify the liver.

  • Liver, kidney, and parasite cleanse.

  • Enhance the immune system.

The below photos show what just one session can do.

Before Treatment:

The water changes color naturally because of the chemical reaction between the electricity and the salt water. The debris that form in the water that are the toxins.

After Treatment:

Most people will feel relaxed, balanced, and focused after their foot bath. Some people may experience fatigue or headache after a session if they have released a lot of toxins. We support our clients with water, minerals and nutritional supplements during their foot bath to assist the body in rebuilding after the food bath.

Clients are encouraged to drink plenty of good water (see recommendations below).

Can nutrition affect your feet? Go to this website to find out how.

The potassium and magnesium in bananas may help protect you from muscle cramps at night and during workouts. Bananas are rich in pectin, a soluble dietary fiber and natural detoxifying agent, great for digestion. Banana fiber contains prebiotics that encourages the growth of healthy bacteria in the bowel. And, banana is a tropical fruit that boasts a number of health benefits.

Here's how to cure super-cracked feet without any hassle.

  1. Whip a ripe banana in a mixer

  2. Apply the paste evenly on your feet.

  3. Let it dry for 10 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.

  4. Try this remedy once in a week and achieve the desired result.

Why shouldn’t you tell a secret on a farm?

Because the potatoes have eyes, the corn has ears and the beans stalk.

Those all sound like great things to avoid if you want to have your secrets kept.

We'd like to share a corny secret. Want to get that toenail fungus?

Vinegar is slightly acidic, so natural remedies like apple cider vinegar get rid of toenail fungus and work on the pH of the skin. It helps to prevent the fungus from spreading and kills bacteria and fungi.

Mix equal parts vinegar and water and soak the infected area for 30 minutes daily.

Honey

Honey is a natural source that can work wonders for your cracked feet and can be used as an all over solution to dry skin. Especially good with raw honey since its a natural skin moisturizer.

Footbath for feet:

  • One cup of honey

  • Warm water

  • Soak your feet in the honey water for around 20 minutes and then gently scrub the hard skin.
